Grade 8 — Use equivalent fractions to simplify fractions, when appropriate, in various contexts.
A note on this mapping: Ontario names "simplify" surprisingly late: the equivalence work starts at Grade 5 but simplifying to lowest terms is only expected at Grade 8, so this skill straddles four grades.
